2011 Dreambuilders Projects
DreamBuilders has another exciting year planned. We will be conducting 4 mission trips and 2 local projects. Our May trip has traditionally been to the Gulf, working with Habitat for Humanity but after last August's trip to the St Bernard Parish in the New Orleans area, we felt a greater need to return there. Back by popular demand is a trip to Panama in June to work with Habitat for Humanity. Our first trip to Panama was 2 years ago. Our largest mission trip will be at the end of June to work with Almost Heaven Habitat for Humanity in Franklin, West Virginia. We will take 65 missioners and work on two Blitz build homes. We will wrap up our mission trips in August with a trip to Rochester, Pennsylvania to work with Hosanna Industries. This will be our first time working with Hosanna Industries but it is sure to be a good experience.
The details of our spring local project are still being worked out but we will do at least one weekend of work in the Remmington area of Baltimore. We have a big fall Arc of Howard County project planned, provided the Arc folks receive a grant. This will be a multiple weekend, major renovation project.
Our annual general information meeting will be Sunday January 23 at Temple Isaiah in Fulton 2-4 pm. Snow date is January 30. Please plan to attend to find out more about DreamBuilders 2011.

Local Projects
This year we will continue our local work with Arc of Howard County, whose mission is to improve the lives of children and adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities. We are planning to do a major home renovation, which we will complete over 5 weekends in the fall. Our spring project will be to build screened porches on two of the Arc group homes. More details will be provided later in the year.
We are also developing plans to work on a townhome in Baltimore City which was destroyed by fire, sometime this spring.
In addition to volunteering for a mission trip – how can you help?
Join the leadership team!
For DreamBuilders to continue to grow and offer more mission trips and local projects, we are in need of volunteers to join the leadership team. We envision a core team that will train and then oversee leadership teams for each mission trip/project. Each trip is a team effort, so no one person shoulders all of the weight.
Help with fundraising
Throughout the year, our congregations sponsor a variety of fund raising activities. These funds cover a portion of the airfare for our volunteers, food, on-site transportation costs, and a portion of the building costs. Volunteers pay for most of their own air fare and provide some of the tools. We are also planning to do two Blitz Builds in West Virginia in 2011 that will require raising $80,000. We are always looking for new fundraising ideas and can use your help.
Provide contributions for our annual Silent Auction
Contributions are needed from local merchants and others for the silent auction that will be held in conjunction with the DreamBuilders congregations’ 7th Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction on April 2, 2011 at Temple Isaiah 5-9 pm. To donate or if you would like to be a corporate sponsor, please contact Steve Kimberling at 410-730-6461 or stevekimberling@verizon.net .
